For me this opens the door so that distance learning can involve some face-to-face time if the student or the school requires it for a specific program. The program I attend is a doctoral program which has all classes for a term on campus in one week. Then we students go home to complete all the rest of the coursework and assignments before returning to school for our next term.]

Education started at home. It wasn't until after printing presses were invented and became widely used, that classrooms started to be the place of education, because moms and dads did not know how to read, so they couldn't teach their own children how to read and write. Classrooms are a cultural invention and so is distance learning.]
